About this deal

It feels live, as if someone pressed record during a rehearsal; the mood is ominous, and it’s punctuated with frequent pregnant pauses. And yet its episodic structure works: the moment that celebrated bass riff appears never fails to feel exciting, no matter how many times you’ve heard it. By the time they recorded it on Mirage, her memories had been sharpened by the death of her high-school friend Robyn Snyder Anderson.

It covers the period of the band's greatest commercial success, from the mid-1970s to the late-1980s. Moreover, it transcended its era, becoming a hit again in 1973, then a chill-out collection and ad-soundtrack perennial. Entrancing, sensual and opaque, it’s apparently about Nicks’ friend marrying Mick Fleetwood, but could just as easily be about a passionate affair ending. If you want to trace the roots of Fleetwood Mac the multimillion-selling pop-rock phenomenon, start with the LP Bare Trees. A very similar release with the same title and same cover was released by Sony BMG in 1989, but consisted of the tracks from The Pious Bird of Good Omen plus " Shake Your Moneymaker" and "Love That Burns". It is different from the similarly titled 1971 release by the Peter Green incarnation of the band and contains a different track listing. Greatest Hits is a greatest hits album by British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac, released on 21 November 1988 by Warner Bros. Written by Bob Welch, Keep on Going sets Christine McVie’s voice against an arrangement audibly influenced by the soul music coming out of Philadelphia International Records at the time: high-drama strings, dancefloor drums.

Long out of print, it was replaced on compact disc by the 2002 compilation The Best of Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac on the Sony International label, which now owns the Columbia/CBS catalogue. Rescued from obscurity by the soundtrack of Almost Famous, the title track of 1971’s Future Games demonstrates how Welch’s arrival shook Fleetwood Mac up. While the keyboardist-singer was keen to emphasise its blues roots, to everyone else it just sounded like impeccable pop music. But if you want evidence that the contemporary Mac aren’t a spent creative force, try Sad Angel – from 2013’s overlooked four-track Extended Play – a taut, catchy Buckingham rock song about his perennial subject: Nicks. Arranged differently, it might have sounded like Rumours’ acoustic Never Going Back Again; here, Buckingham’s fantastic melody proceeds at breakneck speed, accompanied by a downtuned, off-key electric guitar, the harmonies so drowned in echo they’re barely there.Fleetwood Mac, towards the end of the Peter Green era in the early 70s (l-r) John McVie, Danny Kirwan, Mick Fleetwood, Jeremy Spencer and Green. As if the romantic entanglements depicted elsewhere aren’t emotionally wrenching enough, Rumours ends with a description of a cocaine overdose. There are various releases including the one with 13 tracks and the one with 17 tracks for example Fleetwood Mac - Greatest Hits. The crux of this collection was culled from Fleetwood Mac’s 1975 self-titled album and 1977’s Rumours.

It includes the 1975 track " Over My Head" but omits the 1987 track " Seven Wonders" (despite it being a top 20 hit in the US) as well as the 1982 track " Oh Diane" (which failed to chart there in 1983, but was a top-ten hit in the UK). A distinct blues undertow remains in the guitars and vocal, but the overall sound is smooth, cosseting and sunlit, at odds with the paranormally obsessed lyrics. Greatest Hits" is a greatest hits album by British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac, released on 15 November 1988 by Warner Bros.In an imaginary alternative history of Fleetwood Mac, Green and guitarist Danny Kirwan keep their mental equilibrium, they refine the tough sound of 1969’s superb Then Play On, and ride a Zeppelin-esque wave of hard rock success in the US. A true surprise and a big smile to all who blindly believe in marketing chitchatting over-expensive reissues being the ultimate :-).
