About this deal

Thanks for taking the time to reply – just in case anyone else finds this thread – I bought the following and it screws in both ends (one to the stove attachment and one to the new UK type canister) and it works a treat! We go camping earlier and later in the year than most families in the UK, but we've gone for butane gas and had no problems in spring or mornings after a slight frost, but that's pushing the limits of butane. The two burners, which hide under a wooden lid that doubles as a chopping board, can be fired up with most gas canisters, making it easy to grab more fuel on the go.

The compact, low profile design and stainless steel burners offer good support with minimal risk of tipping, and the anti-slip feet keep it securely in place on a table. For uncomplicated connection of 12/24 volt cooling appliances to inputs of 110 to 240 volts mains, the Dometic Waeco Coolpower MPS 35 Mains Adaptor makes. There’s also no way of controlling the power of the flame, so it’s a case of lifting the pan away from it to cook/boil less – not ideal! Unfortunately for us, we didn't go down this route (there's never a car boot sale when you need one), but if you know that next season you'll be getting a larger gas stove that will need a gas cylinder, this is something to look out for. When you've run out of gas, you exchange your gas cylinder for a refill, which should be the cost of the gas.An update to the traditional alcohol burner style all-in-one camping stove, this stylish, super light design from Primus comes with a small but mighty 2000W piezo controlled gas burner that can boil a litre of water in just four minutes. Famous for weighing a mere 73g, this is an ingenious design which delivers excellent performance – it will boil 1 litre of water in only 3.

When gas canisters (which actually contain liquid, not gas) get cold, the liquid sinks to the bottom of the canister. Hi Tim, I have an old Campingaz heater that uses the pierceable canisters that are hard to find in Canada. This stove is fuelled by kindling and twigs and gets very hot quickly thanks to the focused heat from dry sticks. In this article we first look at the best camping stove for each of the main fuel types and then we examine different scenarios in which you may be using the stove and the trade-offs you may encounter – for example campsite use vs wild camping on a mountain top.Your article also helped me figure out where to get certain systems, so that was very helpful, thank you! Anyone know of a base fkr screw on burners that allows a screw on canister to be used remotely rather than have the burner screwed directly to the top of a canister?

Whether it is setting up the perfect tent or exploring new trails on my bike, I'm here to help you make the most of your outdoor camping adventures. Normally when I camp/hunt/hike, I like to pack really light (for obvious reasons) and the Primus Omnifuel is my companion.Alternatively, if you’re on a hiking expedition then a gas powered burner is an essential piece of gear to keep you warm and fed. Problem is that I do not have the fitting to empty them and I am apprehensive about puncturing them. The Cadac Safari Chef 2 low pressure stove is renowned in the camping world as the best option for this kind of cooking, and we find it hard to disagree. A dome lid is also provided which can cover the food and allow temperatures of >200°C to be reached.

There’s a Piezo ignition, a handy carry case and the whole thing is sturdy enough to take bigger pans with no wobbles. We recommend gas as a fuel for wild camping expeditions because it tends to be more efficient than other options like ethanol/propanol/solid fuel – by this, we mean that you will get more heat into your food for the same carry-weight using gas versus the others. The 400 CV is designed to take the Campingaz ‘easy clic’ valve cannisters like the CV470, so you don’t need a hose and regulator – this simplifies the operation a bit. This type of cylinder is in use across Europe, so if you plan to tour and camp in Europe, you can easily find Campingaz refills there.
