About this deal

I have the Ice Blue color model, which looks pretty special as it is a blend of light blue and metallic colors. The color changes slightly with the light and appears gray or light blue depending on where you are.

And here’s what the guitar community (on various online stores and forums) has to say about the DST-152R I can’t deny it…I just love cheap guitars that are actually good. When you have bought a guitar and find out that it offers outstanding value for the money, it’s a good feeling. You might have gotten even more than you paid for. Donner DST-400 is a great entry-level guitar for beginner guitarists. It is highly affordable, sounds good, feels highly comfortable, and is quite versatile. It can be preferred by younger musicians as well as adults as their first instruments. But, as it is a bit of a heavy guitar, it may not be suitable for kids. Yamaha is famous for its great guitars for reasonable prices, and the Yamaha Pacifica Series PAC112J is no different. It is a popular beginner guitar model due to its quality construction and parts, simple design, decent sound, and, before all, great price. One of the most flexible boost pedals available”: Boss’ Waza Craft BP-1W pedal puts the ‘secret weapon’ preamp sounds of the classic CE-1 and RE-201 into one compact unitI rate this guitar 4.5 out of 5 for its sound and feel with the offered price. It is a great instrument with a very good value-for-price ratio. This guitar is part of the Donner Seeker series that includes 3 different guitars sharing a lot of characteristics: the Donner DST-152, the DST-200, and the DST-400, reviewed by Guitar International HERE. The DST-152 is a classic Stratocaster model with a poplar body.

Secondly, the body of the guitar doesn’t have shielding. This can cause especially single-coils to produce unwanted hum and buzz when there’s radio- or electromagnetic interference present. First, some of the bad stuff. The action was too low out of the box and that caused some fret buzz and a not-so-fun time playing this axe. So I had to do a little setup before the guitar was playable. I needed to change the strings because the factory set (9-42) was really cheap and the guitar didn’t stay in tune. Thanks to the correct relief from factory, I was able to get great low-string action. One thing of concern was the delivery by your selected freight company. After taking two days to come from Sydney to Toowoomba, it took a further FIVE days before I received it. But the overall versatility of this Donner really surprised me. It can handle music from soft country cleans to pretty meaty metal tones if the right amp is used (I recommend Fender Mustang LT25, Boss Katana 50 Mkii, or VOX Valvetronix 20). And this is why I think it’s a great choice, especially for beginners.

QUESTIONS ET RÉPONSES

All of these accessories worked really well. They are not top-notch quality but get the job done. It also seems that some Donner DST 152’s come with free online lessons, mine didn’t. I got approached by Donner’s staff member Brandon, and he offered to send me products to test and review for free. I was flattered, but at first, I declined. I didn’t want to become like the Youtubers who produce commercials for guitars and rarely disclaim that they got products for free or even got paid to produce content. But I started to have second thoughts… He started playing bass and guitar in 1998, and played the local scene throughout his teen years before life got in the way. L'amplificateur n'est pas génial mais c'est en fait un ampli gratuit et il fait vraiment l'affaire.

It is very impressive how much quality and versatility this guitar offers. The gig bag is not heavily padded but it seems strong and comfortable to carry around with nicely padded handles and shoulder straps. A mini Phantom and a slimmed-down digital archtop: Vox’s shrinking violets tip their caps to the guitar’s past, present and futureThe body is an ST-style solid alder body which is the most common choice for Stratocasters. Fender also uses Alder often with their St-style guitars. The high gloss finish of DST-400 is also a pretty classic choice which goes well with the Stratocasters. Another great aspect of DST-152 is that it comes with an excellent accessory bundle. The bundle includes a gig bag, a Donner mini guitar amp, a USB charge cable for the amp, an AUX cable, a guitar cable, an extra string set, a capo, a guitar strap, a tuner, and two Hex keys’ (Allen wrench), one for adjusting the saddle and one for adjusting the truss rod. Meet the Stratocaster Custom, a Fender Japan signature model that combines the Strat and Tele into a unique new form – and it’s absolutely full of surprises In general, they are no worse than other cheap guitars but don’t expect perfection either. Are Donner Guitars Good for Beginners? We can see that Donner is really trying hard to produce a decent guitar. This isn’t just throwing parts together and hoping they don’t fall apart – it’s clear to see that this is a company that cares about building a brand and a customer base; the NAMM booth was a big hint about this goal. I had to admit that the crunch tones were the ones I least enjoyed with this Donner, but it doesn’t mean this axe sounds bad with crunch, it just was just not my favorite use for this guitar. But crunch tones of this axe are still really good for the price.
