This is demonstrated in Diagram 8. You will need to carefully consider where ground level is for your building. There may be situations in which small spaces have been created adjacent to the building below the level of normal ground floor access such as lightwells. Mezzanines are intermediate areas that do not cover the whole length of the building between two main storeys. A residential unit is a dwelling or any other unit of living accommodation and is defined in the Regulations.
