About this deal

Cocker had a friend who used the phrase 'different class' to describe something that was 'in a class of its own'. The album was a critical and commercial success, entering the UK Albums Chart at number one and winning the 1996 Mercury Music Prize.

Every record is shipped in original factory-applied shrink wrap and has never been touched by human hands. By the time Different Class was released at the end of October 1995, the band, particularly lead singer Jarvis Cocker, were genuine British superstars, with two number two singles and a triumphant last-minute performance at Glastonbury under their belts, as well as one tabloid scandal.

As well as perfectly capturing the behavior of his characters, Cocker grasps the nuances of language, creating a dense portrait of suburban and working-class life. Certain items can take longer to source than the estimated week, particularly during busy trading periods and may take longer to arrive at our warehouse. When Jarvis hisses "I can't help it / I was dragged up / Grass is something you smoke/ Birds are something you shag / Take your 'Year In Provence' and shove it up your ass," it sounds like mustard gas escaping over the trenches in the class war. Clever songwriting isn’t biased to any gender, and while several of his peers were content to play up their laddishness, Cocker’s peculiar disposition had him turning heads of both sexes.

There are definitely Britpop bands I prefer - Oasis, for one - but I do think Different Class by Pulp is the genre's definitive moment. The year had already seen UK number one albums by Elastica, Supergrass, The Charlatans, Black Grape and The Boo Radleys. Mis-shapes' and 'Pencil Skirt' is yet more of Cocker at his most debauched, but it makes for some pretty catchy tracks, with 'Underwear' proving the same. Then, the next month, they headlined the biggest music festival on the planet, filling in for The Stone Roses – whose John Squire had fractured his collarbone – at Glastonbury.Following the recent renewal of interest in Britpop comes the reissue of Pulp's widely revered 1995 LP 'Different Class'. We carry a broad range of CDs and vinyl (7”/12” singles and LPs) and specialise in indie, alternative, rock, punk, metal plus a few other genres. Volume 2 of Madness B-Sides "I Do Like To B-Side The A-Side", across 11 hit singles from "Driving In My Car" to "(Waiting For) The Ghost. one of the most acclaimed concept albums of all time, 'the wall' from 1979 is renowned as roger waters' rock opera dealing with. Coming from Cocker, who made secondhand clothes and music glamorous, the song is undeniably affecting and exciting, much like Different Class itself.
