About this deal

Gordon Ramsay won his first Michelin star at the prodigious age of 27 and has since become one of the UK’s best known chefs.

Gordon's early career: learning his trade in Paris and London; how his career developed from there: his time in Paris under Albert Roux and his seven Michelin-starred restaurants. From there, a 23-year-old Ramsay moved to Paris to work with Guy Savoy and Joël Robuchon, both Michelin-starred chefs. I am really disappointed to hear Gordon Ramsay’s divisive comments and his lack of respect for the Cornish people. Marcus Wareing was his right-hand man there and was an important member of Gordon Ramsay Holdings at the time of this book’s writing.

He was offered a job with Alain Ducasse in Paris, but instead took a job working for Albert Roux at Le Gavroche in Mayfair, London. The Italian cuisine of the Union Street Café, with a menu that revolved on a daily basis, was overseen by Chef Davide Degiovanni. Reg taught him the importance of looking out for individuals long before he opened his own restaurant. In April 2010, Jason Atherton, executive chef of Maze restaurants worldwide, resigned to open his own venue in Mayfair.

His tough upbringing greatly affected his attitudes to cooking and the heated environment of the kitchen. It is extremely well written and Gordon narrates well, there are moments when you can hear the emotion in his voice. During his second appearance on the BBC’s Top Gear, he stated that his current cars were a Ferrari F430 and a Range Rover Sport Supercharged, the latter replacing the Bentley Continental GT he previously owned. Following the dismissal of protege Marcus Wareing from sister restaurant L'Oranger, Ramsay organised a staff walkout from both restaurants and subsequently took them to open up Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, at Royal Hospital Road, London. On 24 March 2020, Ramsay laid off more than 500 staff in the UK after a number of Ramsay's restaurants had to close temporarily under the coronavirus lockdown. The producers eventually agreed to hire prep-chefs to help in the kitchen and Gordon agreed to come back. Not only did the restaurant earn three Michelin Stars but Gordon went ahead and opened other restaurants. With over 100 brand new recipes including some of the most accessible and delicious he has ever produced Kitchen Heaven is a cookbook for everyone who loves food, from the complete novice to the more accomplished cook.

He has owned and operated a series of restaurants since he first became head chef of Aubergine in 1993. Although he was the creator of Hell's Kitchen, Ramsay only starred in the first series, as he signed a four-year contract with Channel 4, ruling out any possibility of him appearing on future episodes of the ITV-produced show.

In A Chef for All Seasons, he shares 100 recipes that embody his commitment to working with ingredients in their prime. The guide's director Michael Ellis stated that he was served "some very erratic meals" and also experienced "issues with consistency.

In 2017 Ramsay appeared in the two-part British documentary series Gordon on Cocaine, about the illegal drug. Although Ramsay often mocks the French, one of his most trusted maîtres d'hôtel, Jean-Baptiste Requien (Royal Hospital Road), is French [128] and Ramsay also speaks fluent French from his time in Paris. The chef was so impressed by the speed at which a prisoner, Kieron Tarff, chopped vegetables that he offered him a job at his restaurant following his release in 2007. Ramsay's ferocious temper has contributed to his media appeal in both the United Kingdom and the United States, where his programmes are produced. In 2022, on an episode of Master Chef: Back to Win, Ramsay said, "After all these years, I can finally admit, that I actually love vegan food.

Shortly after being awarded his third Michelin star, he developed a relationship with The Blackstone Group and the Claridge’s Hotel. In 2003, when asked for his most recent lie, he said "To a table of vegetarians who had artichoke soup. He continued his training in France for three years, before giving in to the physical and mental stress of the kitchens and taking a year to work as a personal chef on the private yacht Idlewild, based in Bermuda. In this fast paced, bite sized edition of his bestselling autobiography Ramsay tells the real story of how he became the world’s most famous and infamous chef: his difficult childhood, his brother’s hero*in addiction, his failed first career as a footballer, his fanatical pursuit of gastronomic perfection and his TV persona all the things that have made him the celebrated culinary talent and media powerhouse that he is today. Gordon Ramsay launches Street Burger in St Paul's and plots Street Pizza roll out in Southwark and Battersea".
