This is the original story where the film "Kingsman" was based on, to the point that while this comic book title was just "The Secret Service", it was added "Kingsman" to the title to match both projects with the same title. Millar’s bloody sense of humour is present in a couple of scenes but for the most part the story never once becomes interesting. Together, they uncover a plot that links kidnapped celebrities with a plot to eradicate 90 percent of the human race!

The opening sequence is reminiscent of Kick Ass’s opening scene where you see a “superhero” soar off a building - and then land on a car, dead. or any of those brilliant super-spy concepts, but seen through that skewed perspective we brought to superheroes in ' Kick-Ass. There are several actions that could trigger this block including submitting a certain word or phrase, a SQL command or malformed data.

Arnold, a scientist who put forth the idea that Earth is a living organism and humanity is a plague upon it—and that global warming is just a planetary fever. Horrified by his uncle's death, and learning that Arnold is supported by higher-level members of Kingsman, Gary recruits his fellow trainees to an assault mission on Arnold's base, hidden inside a mountain in Switzerland.

I especially liked the involved celebrity targets - William Shatner, David Beckham, and Mick Jagger, among others, are taken hostage by the lead villain of the piece for a diabolical plot that actually makes some sense - and the dark humor (such as an unexpected fatal snowmobile crash in the opening pages) that worked without seeming too mean-spirited. A stand-alone five-page one-shot, Kingsman: The Secret Service: Mum's the Word, written by Phillip Huxley and illustrated by Myron Macklin, was published in the anthology annual Millarworld Annual 2016 in June 2016.Dave Gibbons; one of Britain's finest comic artists, his work includes the multi-award-winning Watchmen, Batman and Doctor Who as well as his own graphic novel The Originals. Kingsman: The Secret Service, directed by Vaughn from a script he co-wrote with Jane Goldman, starring Colin Firth and Taron Egerton, was released in February 2015.
