About this deal

By submitting a review you grant us the right to display and use it in any way; please read our General Legal Notices for full details. The brain we are born with does not depend on the generation it is born into; but the brain we develop does.

All of our books are 100% brand new, unread and purchased directly from the publishers in bulk allowing us to pass the huge savings on to you! While the generalisations are fascinating, and the basic biology explained well, it is not written by a scientist and a lot of the assessments are very simplistic. Easy to read and helpful to understand the phases children's brains go through from puberty to adolescence.I thought I’d give you an insight into the changes I’ve made for this new edition, published this month and available now.

Case studies are particularly useful which makes a teenager think they are not alone in their “ weirdness “. Yes, it existed but until the smartphone became mainstream and affordable, it wasn’t something enough people had in their pockets to make an impact on life. TES It is very rare that an author succeeds in writing a book for teenagers which is also a 'must read' for their parents and teachers. Contrary to popular (parental) opinion, teenagers are not the deliberately lazy, risk-taking and work-avoiding individuals they sometimes appear to be to the adults around them. I would strongly recommend this read to teenagers and their parents, but also to anyone who works with adolescents; it has certainly given me a fresher perspective on the students I see day-to-day.Even if centuries/millennia of human females more often having caring or gathering roles and males more often having combative or hunting roles might have created patterns of typical skill-sets, this does not mean that each can’t very easily learn the other set of skills.

It's a book written for young people, and as such it doesn't contain strategies for parents to deal with some of the more difficult aspects of adolescence. You can dress how you want, learn what you want, become brilliant at what you want, live the life you want and do whatever feels right to you, within the law and while not causing harm. Our team is made up of book lovers who are dedicated to sourcing and providing the best books for kids.

For fans of Grace Helbig and Alexa Chung comes a fresh, hilarious guide to growing up your way from social media influencer and lifestyle vlogger Arden Rose.I was intrigued by the title of Nicola Morgan's book and only slightly disappointed to learn that it was aimed at teenagers. The book covers six key areas; Emotions, Sleep, Risk-taking, Gender differences, Mental health issues and Brain development in older teens. Another example of this extra care is that, in the chapter on the risks of alcohol, I also include an extra paragraph of reassurance, in case a reader has already been involved in this. The good news is apparently they WILL grow out of this delightfull stage of development and turn back into ordinary people once more!
