This Hine 100 Year Anniversary Cognac contains the original Antique XO, with a special eau-de-vie from the 1920 harvest too. It has been preserved by the cellar masters in glass demi-johns in the Réserve du Paradis in Jarnac, where the Englishman Thomas Hine established Hine Cognac on the banks of the Charente river in 1763. Enjoy the Antique 100th Anniversary XO neat, or alternatively it is best accompanied by a mature cheddar cheese, grilled pineapple or even a piece of citrus chocolate. The Antique is remarkably decadent with a lingering taste in the mouth. Presentation of the decanter I’ve had Remy Martin XO and Hine Antique and, whilst they’re both pleasant, I’d only choose Hennessy XO over a good whisky.

To mark 100 years since the very first blend of Antique XO was created by Georges Hine in 1920, the Hine Antique XO 100th Anniversary 1920-2020 is a very limited edition cuvée. Only 1920 decanters exist of this rare nectar, and each bottle has been lovingly numbered by hand.
