About this deal

Jack starts to think more about his mother’s death, and he is filled with rage at the fact that his mother’s murderer was never caught. which is undoubtedly true to life in a certain way, but it’s also a bit insulting to your reader, to pile coincidence on top of coincidence and try to pass that off as a well-crafted mystery.

Goldilocks is happy with firm, soft, or ‘just-right’ beds for a little snooze while stealing the goods from people’s homes. The issues of hoarding, loss, grief, mental illness are all explored in both a sensitive and thought-provoking manner. She has no idea where it came from and she makes a “snap” decision not to tell her husband about this which ends up almost costing her everything! I could never get lost in a game with them because the story I was telling in my own head was better, so they were an interruption,” she says, grinning. I really do enjoy thrillers in a guilty pleasure kind of way, but I can’t read too many of them in a row as I get sick of them quite easily. It takes a little while before the multiple threads in the narrative begin to connect, so please persevere because this a story you do not want to miss. There are no fancy frills or poetic moments here (except maybe for poetic justice, if that counts) – and yet my thoughts, feelings, and imagination were all held captive until the very end. SNAP is a multi-layered, cleverly plotted crime novel with a varied group of unusual and unpredictable character types.

On a stifling summer's day, 11-year old Jack and his two little sisters sit in their broken-down car along the highway, waiting for their mum to come back and rescue them.ABOUT THIS BOOK: On a stifling summer's day, eleven-year-old Jack and his two sisters sit in their broken-down car, waiting for their mother to come back and rescue them. He’s a fastidious, impeccably groomed straight arrow who’s always willing to help coworkers better themselves. There are several examples of this in the story, in particular the decision of Jack’s mother to get in a stranger’s car. The courageous and brave Jack holds his family together against all the odds, driven by a fury and determination to see justice for his beloved mother. When she doesn’t, 11-year-old Jack picks up the baby, Merry, and marshals his little sister Joy along the hard shoulder.
