About this deal

After re-routing my board and cleaning up all the cables and power cords....VIOLA....smooth, shimmery Chorus thru my Rig! It adds a little something to the "Cleans" and even adds some extra tone to the HI-GAIN channel of my Marshall DSL 20watt Amp ! Includes new sounds not available in the original pedals, including CE-2 stereo output and variable depth for CE-1 chorus sounds There are certain advantages afforded by digital chorus pedals, however: these contemporary stompboxes can not only emulate their analog forebears, but veer into flanger territory, too – accordingly, TC Electronic’s unfortunately named Corona Chorus is one of the most versatile chorus pedals on the market. AC adaptor (PSA series: sold separately) Current Draw 55mA Expected battery life under continuous use Alkaline: Approx. 6hours Launched in 1976, the CE-1 Chorus Ensemble was not only the world’s first chorus effect pedal, but also the very first BOSS pedal. Three years later, this inventive new sound was squeezed into the blue CE-2 Chorus, and chorus pedals have remained in the compact lineup ever since. Four decades on, the spacious modulated tone of the signature BOSS effect is still loved by musicians everywhere. In 2016, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of BOSS innovation, the original analog chorus sounds are now reborn with the Waza Craft CE-2W. The CE-2W’s Standard mode faithfully recreates the classic CE-2 chorus sound, and adds an expansive new sound field with stereo output, which was unavailable in the mono CE-2. CE-1 mode fully reproduces the stereo chorus and vibrato sounds of the legendary CE-1, with the addition of variable chorus depth not available in the original pedal. To commemorate the birth of BOSS effects, the CE-2W is made exclusively in Japan, just as the original CE-1 and CE-2 were.

A distortion pedal can be a guitarist's most defining tool. Learn to pair it with other effects and expand your sonic approach. Released in 176, the BOSS CE-1 Chorus Ensemble took the chorus circuitry from the JC amplifiers and placed it at the feet of guitarists everywhere. The CE-1 featured the very same circuit found in the JC series and included both chorus and vibrato functionality. Even at higher rate and depth settings, you don't feel overwhelmed by the pulse or the fluttering. I noticed that the rate on the CE-2 setting seemed a little faster and more intense, but it was still mild compared to the norm we see in most chorus pedals, particularly the digital variety. The CE-2 shares similar circuitry to the CE-1, however, to fit the circuit into a compact enclosure BOSS were forced to make a number of changes, such as the removal of the vibrato function, the stereo output, the volume and intensity knobs and the integrated power supply.A: Since October 2001 all CH-1s produced have been digital. Amongst a wealth of reasons Boss made this change principally for reliability and consistency Each Waza Craft pedal is a complete redesign of the classic circuits by the original designers. There’s also a three-way toggle that lets the user choose between three chorus types, including TriChorus (which uses three stereo choruses with various offsets to produce what TC describes as a unique, very broad and lush chorus) and, yes, Stereo Chorus Flanger-style effects.

Nowadays, most choruses are digital, which carries with it the usual tradeoff of increased flexibility at the expense of often more clinical tones. However, this isn't a given; not only are some digital effects rich and warm, but others emulate vintage units for a specific tone, like the Strymon Deco's tape machine modeling. For our money, the key areas you should look at when buying a chorus are the range of speed and depth, whether it's digital or not, and whether it's stereo. Whether or not the pedal is stereo won't matter to you if you don't run a dual amp set-up. Nevertheless, it might be that even if you use the pedal in mono, you'll get a chance to use it in stereo for recording. There's few things quite as mind-bending as stereo chorus, especially when used tastefully. Read more about our rating system, how we choose the gear we feature, and exactly how we testeach product. Related buying guides The Way Huge Smalls Blue Hippo Analog Chorus is a miniaturized, pedalboard friendly doppelganger of the original, preserving the same features and sweet tones in a compact pedal footprint. Though it’s not sized as a typical mini-pedal, it’s still small enough to fit into the palm of your hand and is less boxy than its original counterpart, making it super pedalboard-friendly. CE-1 Vibrato Nominal Input Level -20 dBu Input Impedance 1 M ohm Nominal Output Level -20 dBu Output Impedance 1 k ohm Recommended Load Impedance 10 k ohms or greater Bypass Buffered bypass Controls Pedal switch The features and controls are fairly standard for a chorus pedal - depth and rate control the sound and speed of the chorus whilst E.level is an effects level, acting as a wet / dry mix. The CH-1 also includes an additional function in an EQ knob, which can give give a really strong, bright and shimmery chorus sound, whilst boosting the depth at the same time can create a sound verging on the edge of vibrato! This line can be blurry. Famously, Andy Summers didn't use a chorus on The Police's Walking On The Moon. It's reportedly an EHX Electric Mistress flanger, which explains his recent signature pedal. What should I look for in a chorus pedal? These figures will vary depending on the actual conditions of use. Accessories Leaflet ("USING THE UNIT SAFELY,""IMPORTANT NOTES," and "Information")Terms like LFO might be bamboozling at first glance, but think of it simply as the rate, a sine wave that you can hear giving motion to the guitar. It delivers a clean chorus sound with crystal-clear highs and a unique stereo effect, variable between the left and right speakers. An EQ function adjusts the tonality of the chorus sound. Boss pedals are renowned for quality and value and the CH-1 has been an industry favourite for over 20 years. What does a chorus pedal do?
