About this deal

Viewing angles are decent, although there's still some loss of image accuracy when viewing off-center. The monitor uses an IPS nano panel and is also HDR-enabled, meaning you don’t miss on anything that requires the reproduction of a decent HDR image. Windows ClearType (top photo) makes the letters appear bolder, especially diagonal lines like on the R and N. Pre-owned Certified products are inspected, cleaned and (if applicable) repaired to excellent functional standards.

Actual features, functionality, and other product specifications may differ and are subject to change without notice. Most displays have the ability to be tilted forward and backward as to provide a more comfortable viewing position for the user. If the manufacturer does not provide such information, the diagonal is calculated from the width and height of the screen. The stand is very slim, but does take up a large footprint, and if your desk is cramped or shallow, you may have to make space or may find that it's just too close to your face to be comfortable. Although the Dell S2721DGF and the LG 34GP83A-B have different screen sizes and aspect ratios, they're quite similar in gaming performance. While it supports HDR, it can't deliver a satisfying HDR experience because it has a low contrast ratio, no local dimming, and doesn't get bright enough to make highlights pop. For reference, I've got a Ryzen 5800X and a 3080, so I can run all of those monitors, and G-Sync is decently important to me.

The LG 34GP83A-B and the Dell S3422DWG use different panel technologies, each with strengths and weaknesses. The best overdrive setting at 60Hz is 'Normal' because 'Off' is slower, and there's too much overshoot with the 'Fast' and 'Faster' options. Unfortunately, while it gets bright enough to overcome glare easily, it isn't enough to deliver a true HDR experience. millioin colors, which are typical for 8-bit display panels, and not the standard 262200 colors, instead. The photo above doesn't show the entire screen due to the monitor's aspect ratio and the photo's crop. However, its low peak HDR brightness, poor black levels, and unergonomic stand may be a dealbreaker.
