About this deal

When it comes to vinyl and record players, there is a lot of ingrained wisdom, opinions and advice out there. Bringing together music-loving baby boomers and the newly-converted millennial and Gen Z generations, it can be a hard world to get to grips with. Should you go for a component player or something all-in-one? Do you need external speakers? Is it worth the hassle? The brand has recently been revived by Innovative Technology, which has blended Victrola's classic vintage design with the best of today's audio technology. As the Eastwood is most likely to be used in Phono mode, we tested this first. To play your record, lift the clear plastic dust cover and place it on the turntable. The compact design means that the record won't actually fit perfectly, and you won't be able to close the dust cover again without removing it. Still, the visual effect is nice. For the most part, The Eastwood isn’t necessarily going to be ideal for everyone. But if you fit the right mold, you’ll absolutely adore it. But, this portable turntable has proven me wrong. The actual performance is quite solid with no issues with skipping or uneven play. The sound quality is surprising to say the least. And, there are about as many features on this as you can expect in a turntable.

There’s one large knob to control power, volume and connectivity modes situated near the front of the turntable. Holding it down for two seconds will turn the turntable on and off. Turning it will control the volume. And, pressing it will let you cycle through three connectivity modes: Vinyl, Vinyl Stream, and Bluetooth mode. Pairing is incredibly simple with the latter two modes. Speaking of, Vinyl Stream is a somewhat unique concept where you can use the functionality of the turntable while using an external speaker system via Bluetooth. It’s a nice, if somewhat niche, feature that makes sense if you have access to a larger Bluetooth-enabled sound system and want to connect a turntable. The Victrola Eastwood is an eye-catchingly unique take on the record player, blending traditional features with modern convenience. Très satisfait de mon achat, le son est plus que correcte que pour une écoute tranquille dans mon salon. Design sympa. And so, the Eastwood doesn't require additional speakers and can even function as a Bluetooth speaker on its own. The bamboo-effect finish is attractive enough to keep the player on display, but it's also lightweight enough to only have out on special occasions. Keeping with the general suitability for younger music lovers, the Eastwood works independently without needing additional speakers. An external sound system would absolutely help to enhance the experience, but for those short on space, the in-built speakers are good enough. Victrola Eastwood Turntable: Set-up

Best record players and turntables – whatever your budget, our professional lab gives the definitive verdict on the best turntables Victrola recognizes this fact and took steps to do something about it. Instead of leaving a wide-open turntable susceptible to amassing unwanted dirt and dust and grime, they added a crystal-clear yet removable dust cover to keep any and all records protected as they sit upon the turntable. But, it's the sound quality that keeps me from saying it’s great. It has a very colored sound that most people getting into vinyl will enjoy. It’s warm with a slightly overemphasized mid-range and slightly rolled-off high-end that will give everything that vinyl warmth, even when you’re using it as a Bluetooth speaker. It actually surprised me by the quality. However, it has the kind of sound that future audiophiles will eventually find a bit too colored. Of course, this is not meant as a HiFi product. And, for its price, functionality and features, it’s hard to ask for more. But, if you’re hoping for a transcendental auditory experience, you won’t find it here. Absolutely! On first appearance, it doesn’t seem like there’s enough room to close the dust cover and still play records. But looks can be deceiving my friends. The Re-Spin weighs in at just over five pounds, so carrying it with the built-in handle is easy. This lightweight is noticeable in the feel of the plastic---it's thin, but not insubstantial. You probably don't want to drop it, but it feels like it will hold up to everyday use just fine.
