About this deal

Don't get us wrong, we still love the Blade 4 for its affordability and suction power, but we definitely consider the Blade 5 a huge upgrade. This slightly more affordable robotic option from Roomba boasts some genuinely pet-friendly AI in the shape of the brand’s latest software update for the machine, which means that the j7+ will just get smarter over time. She didn't find the stair tool particularly helpful, but she used the combination tool for cleaning baseboards and removing cobwebs from ceiling corners. We put the Harry vacuum cleaner (sometimes known as the Henry Pet) through its paces in our at-home tests.

The German manufacturer includes a more compact brush head with longer bristles for more stubborn patches of hair, which we used in handheld mode and was perfectly suited to picking up hair on furniture, stairs and areas where pets sleep.Admittedly, the manual was overwhelming, but when it comes to using the vacuum, it speaks to you to tell you what to do. She liked the green laser on the Dyson Detect's floorhead and found that it helped to ensure her hard floors were truly clean (and all of the dog hairs had been picked up), but it doesn't work on carpets, FYI.

The larger floorhead also makes cleaning much quicker than with the Blade 4, and all of the tests we threw at this vacuum were dealt with quickly and efficiently. Both vacuums have the same suction performance, which leads us to how impressed she was with the V15 Detect's suction — it offers pickup that you'd expect from a traditional upright vac. The Blade 5 is admittedly a little heavier than its predecessor, but it is brimming with great accessories and comes with a wall mount too, so that storage is straightforward. Its battery life is short and its dust cup is small, so it's ideal for smaller homes and smaller budgets.

There are two suction settings and we think that Gtech has been a little economical with the advertised run time on each setting, as we got almost 50 minutes of work on eco mode (rather than 40) and almost half an hour when the vacuum was on its most powerful setting, but this might have been because we were vacuuming more on hard floors, compared to a fully carpeted house. On the hardwood floor, we found it tended to push the crumbled cookies and oats around for a bit, and we had to lift the vacuum head a little to get it to suck up the crumbs. That’s why you will need a vacuum that is able to generate enough power and versatility that it can keep on top of the trail your pet leaves behind. Jaclyn commended the range of attachments it came with, and the fact it weighs under seven pounds made it so much easier to lug up her stairs. It doesn't have the biggest dust tank out there, but we do love the storage stand it comes with for keeping things streamlined. This Sebo vacuum might be the largest we've ever tried at our test facility and it certainly delivered on power for its size. The first tip for getting the most from your vacuum is to make sure that you're utilising all of the features that your chosen model has to offer. It's not necessary, but the onboard LED display can be connected to your phone via the Tineco app, to monitor cleaning progress, battery levels, and suction performance for additional insight into your cleaning experience.
